A snapshot of pieces currently being suggested, prototyped, or tested. Statuses move forward as the community and developers shape each idea.
Submarine
Underwater ambush unit
A piece that hides movement information for a single turn — adding bluff and counter-bluff to the board.
Movement idea
Moves invisibly for one turn, then surfaces to strike.
Engineer
Builder / fortifier
Introduces persistent terrain. The Engineer trades attack power for the ability to shape the board.
Movement idea
Moves one square, can place a defensive barrier instead of attacking.
Drone Swarm
Splittable airborne unit
A single piece that becomes a swarm — creating chaotic, hard-to-defend pressure across multiple lanes.
Movement idea
Can split into two smaller airborne pieces, then recombine later.
Mortar
Heavy lobbed attack
A second ranged option after Artillery. Slower, but unblockable — ideal for fortress busting.
Movement idea
Moves one square. Fires arc shots that ignore line of sight.
Diplomat
Non-violent disruptor
A piece that wins matches without ever taking another piece — an experiment in disruption-based play.
Movement idea
Moves like a King. Cannot capture. Disables an enemy piece for one turn.
Mine Layer
Delayed area damage
Adds persistent danger zones to the board. Pairs strongly with pieces that force opponent movement.
Movement idea
Moves like Infantry. Drops mines that detonate when stepped on.
Community voting
Players decide what enters the game
The community can help decide which pieces should enter the game next. Ideas with strong support may become prototypes and later become playable pieces.
